Quarterfinal line-up complete after packed Wednesday

Action from Wednesday at the 2026 Seixal Ladies Open as the singles quarterfinal lineup was completed

The Seixal Ladies Open moved decisively into the last eight on Wednesday, with the remaining round-of-16 singles matches completed and the doubles quarterfinal picture pushed forward.

Wednesday delivered one of the busiest days yet at the 2026 Seixal Ladies Open, completing the singles round of 16 and driving the doubles competition deeper into the week in Corroios-Seixal.

The schedule brought sustained main-draw action across all three courts, with international depth, Portuguese interest and several seeded names all feeding into a clear quarterfinal picture by the end of play.

Singles quarterfinals are now set

Chloe Noel came through a three-set battle against Matilde Jorge, while Carol Young Suh Lee edged Sonja Zhiyenbayeva to join Rina Saigo in the top section. Angelina Voloshchuk and Kira Pavlova also advanced, before Francisca Jorge and Han Shi strengthened their own routes into the last eight.

Susan Bandecchi, Indianna Spink and Hanne Vandewinkel also came through key matches, completing a quarterfinal line-up that now features Anastasia Kulikova against Rina Saigo, Veronika Podrez against Francisca Jorge, Han Shi against Cagla Buyukakcay, and Xinyu Gao against Indianna Spink.

Doubles moves into the quarterfinal stage

The doubles draw also accelerated. Lucie Havlickova and Veronika Podrez advanced alongside Alice Ferlito and Carol Young Suh Lee, while Andre Lukosiute and Elyse Tse booked their place against third seeds Vaishnavi Adkar and Angelina Voloshchuk.

In the lower half, Ella Simmons and Amy Stevens progressed to face Han Shi and Sonja Zhiyenbayeva, while Maria Garcia and Milana Ivantsiv were set to meet Miroslava Medvedeva and Amanda Montes Khaghani.

Thursday begins at 10:00

The tournament now turns to Thursday 9 July, when the singles quarterfinals and doubles quarterfinals begin from 10:00. Among the headline contests are Francisca Jorge against third seed Veronika Podrez and Cagla Buyukakcay against fourth seed Susan Bandecchi.

With both draws tightening and the closing stages coming into view, the W50 in Corroios-Seixal is now fully in its decisive phase.
